Hi Erin, thank you for sharing your experience. It brought me to tears throughout your video. I am a nurse and I worked on Spine for awhile a couple years back. Your story really resonated with me from the nurses standpoint. It is so difficult because spine patients are dealing with the hardest time in their lives so far, and it's very difficult not to take their anger towards their injury personally. I really truly appreciate you bringing this to light. Thank you for recognizing the work and resilience medical staff puts forward in these situations. I can say from my perspective, we would do anything to reverse what happened to you or any spinal cord injury patient. Most medical staff really just wants to fix people! It is painful for us to not be able to take the pain and the injury away. I just want to say what a strong woman you are. I would like to recommend to you watch Dr. Joe Dispenza on UA-cam. There is healing beyond medical science. It's worth a watch. Love and light to you sweet woman

This is the first video I have seen and I’ve not yet watched at all. I plan to watch more videos though Why do you have to say that as an independent woman in my 30s this is my worst nightmare. I’m single, no kids, never lived with a roommate. I enjoy my independence. My family knows that if I were to become incapacitated, just to let me go. But I’m not sure if I would honestly even want to stick around if I wasn’t in control with my own body completely. I don’t know why I’m saying this out loud. I’m not looking for sympathy and I’m not looking for anyone to change my mind. It’s just so much to think about.

I don’t judge anyone who becomes addicted to pain medications in situations like this. If that is the only way they can continue to go on and live their lives, then that’s what they need to do. Pain itself can drive people to end their own lives. If pain meds ease that pain and make life worth living, do what you need to do.

@@eirinceciliegjedrem I worked as an oncology nurse. A woman in her early 80s had terminal cancer, and her daughter was concerned about her becoming addicted to the morphine she was on. She was dying, who cares if she got addicted? If it eased her pain and made dying “easier”, just let it be.

I agree; because my neurologist scared me with this, saying I was going to become a «legalized addict» wether I tried to resist it or not. It took me over 20 years to trust medication designed to relieve pain and actually help my body relax more. I still feel anxious when needing it, sadly, because I lost both my dad and my uncle to heroin. When the neurologist told me this, my 14.5 year old brain went «if I say yes to pain relief, I’ll eventually end up on heroin.» I would have anxiety- and panic attacks when I had to have pain relief after surgeries, and I usually never tapered the opiates; I just suddenly refused to take more at a certain point, which was more dangerous than anything. I just didn’t want to die from «drugs». I never questioned if what he said was unprofessional, and I was too young to understand that it didn’t have to be either or.

My friend from grade school fell the first week of college visiting his girlfriend at her school. He was sliding on the railing and fell through to the bottom. He was 18. He could not move from his chest down. He could move his arms but he couldn’t use his hands. He passed away last year at 51. He always was so positive and had the best personality. I miss him so much.

I'm so glad I found you! When I was 5, my Dad slipped off the ladder of the pool. Since he fell into a depth of 4 ft., as he fell in, his head slammed into the bottom. He often described a "feeling" he suddenly got in his head and then he felt a "springing" sensation coiling and uncoiling, like a vibration up and down. At that moment he lost all feeling in his arms and legs. Until I saw this video, I hadn't even thought that my Dad was experiencing drowning. It was nighttime and my mom heard very loud splashing, and when she looked out, she couldn't see my Dad. She had to get in the the pool and was horrified to see my Dad at the bottom, not moving. She was very petite, and my Dad was tall and muscular. She described how hard it was to try to lift him up so he could breathe. She screamed for the neighbors and suddenly everyone was there, and the men picked him out, laid him on his side so he could cough up the water. The first thing my Dad did was say to my mom that he broke his neck. He knew it because of those strange sounds he heard and felt in his head. My sister said he just laid there on the ground, and looked so helpless. I never realized that he was experiencing so much pain afterwards in the hospital, because he always smiled and acted happy when we visited. He died 3 months later from his kidneys shutting down due to the bacteria of a large bedsore he had gotten. Thank you for explaining everything. May God Bless you!

I don't know if you believe in God but I do and I know that he is with you through all of this. We may not know the reasons things happen but we eventually can see the good that can come from such experiences. I see in the many comments that you have helped so many others who are suffering with similar injuries. Please remain strong and in those times of self doubt and pain I pray that you will remember the words of so many kind people who have been blessed by you and your story. I will pray for you. Prayer doesn’t work, if anything it makes things worse. The studies have been done for years and years. Beisdes that, no amount of “gods” intervention is going to make somebody incapable of walking, to walk. I think instead of the Bible being your drug and delusion of choice, maybe try something else? You to any rational human sees that you are clearly coping by using religion and it’s honestly pathetic asf.

A TRUE empath!!!! What an angel you are. Your storytelling is exquisite...please write a book. Also the book Medical Medium, the first book, he describes how an angel (also the gold light) saved him and his dog. He saw his dog being held underwater, not struggling or suffering, and he too felt comfortable underwater without oxygen. It’s a remarkable account and I urge you all to check his book out (he always says go to the library) if you aren’t in a position to buy his book. ❤
